The New York Equestrian Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Therapeutic Program Director to lead and oversee our therapeutic and adaptive riding programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, manage, and grow NYEC’s therapeutic/adaptive riding program
  • Conduct participant evaluations and develop appropriate riding goals
  • Coordinate lessons, instructors, volunteers, horses, and program schedules
  • Ensure participant, staff, volunteer, and horse safety
  • Maintain required participant documentation and program records
  • Train and supervise therapeutic program staff and volunteers
  • Ensure programming follows PATH Intl. standards and best practices
  • Work with NYEC management to develop new therapeutic programs, partnerships, and community outreach

Qualifications:

  • Current PATH Intl. certification required
  • Experience providing therapeutic/adaptive riding instruction
  • Strong horsemanship and equine safety knowledge
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience managing therapeutic riding programs preferred
  • Comfortable working with participants of varying ages, abilities, and support needs

Riding school as well as rehab facility and boarding facility with an indoor arena. We have 55 horses on the property and we have access to a network of trails which we provide trail rides to the public. We have riders and students here that do western pleasure, Hunter jumpers, show jumping and dressage.
