The Lake of the Woods & Greenwoods Camp Riding Director is responsible for developing, facilitating, and overseeing all equestrian programs including: instruction of riding activities to all camps in both English and Western style, scheduling and supervision of all barn staff, tracking skill progression for campers in the program, and management of the care and safety of all horses in Riding program and animals in Animal Care program in conjunction with the Barn manager.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age and 3-5+ years equestrian and animal care experience, or relevant equivalent.
- Previous leadership and supervisory experience, preferably within an animal care setting.
- Management/administrative experience with focus on barn management, animal care, activity management
- Desire and proven ability to positively interact, teach and work with children and staff

Equestrian Employer Details
Our facility is host to 16 horses, three large riding rings, trails, turnout paddocks, 4 stall barn with 12 tie-ups, office, tack room, and 6 additional small animals for petting zoo (goats, calf, sheep, chicks).
Lake of the Woods and Greenwoods Camps were established in 1935 and have been ranked amongst the finest private sleep-away camps in the country. Located just over 2 hours from Chicago in southwest Michigan, our 2, 4 or 8-week premier camp options attract campers and staff from all over the world. We have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, NPR, and The Chicago Tribune. Campers have an elective schedule and are able to choose from our 50+ land and water activities.
