We are expanding our team at a private, family‑run 10‑stall dressage barn in North Stamford, CT. This is a year‑round position within a well‑managed, drama‑free facility that maintains high standards of horse care, organization, and professionalism. We have room for candidates at three experience levels and will shape responsibilities to match the right person.
**Barn Staff (Entry–Intermediate): ** Daily horse care including stalls, turnout, blanketing, paddock maintenance, feeding, and general barn chores. Ideal for reliable, consistent workers with good horse sense and comfort around large warmbloods.
**Groom (Intermediate): ** Grooming, tacking up, hand walking, lunging, bathing, blanketing, and supporting riders’ daily routines. Requires prior experience in an active horse barn and confidence handling fit sport horses.
**Senior Groom / Assistant Barn Manager (Advanced): ** Higher‑level horse handling, coordination with vets, farriers, dentists, physios, and chiropractors, oversight of daily care standards, and support for facility management. This is an employee role, not a trainer or independent contractor position.
**General Duties (all levels): ** Feeding, grooming, tacking‑up, hand walking, lunging, showers, turnouts, blanketing, stall and paddock picking, and common barn chores. Staff interact regularly with owners, trainers, and equine service providers.
We offer a stable, predictable schedule that makes the commute worthwhile. Ideal commuting areas: North Salem, Mt Kisco, Somers, Brewster, Patterson, Carmel, Newtown, Bethel, and surrounding horse communities. Minutes from Bedford Village and the Merritt Parkway.
Please apply through YardandGroom with a brief note about your experience and availability.
