We are looking for a reliable and experienced working couple to join our small private sport horse stable on a full-time basis.
We currently have 6 horses stabled on site, with a few young horses living out. We are looking for two people who would like to work together in a calm, professional environment with a strong focus on horse welfare, cleanliness, organisation and high-quality care.
Position 1 – Groom
Main duties include: – Daily grooming and horse care – Preparing horses for riding and untacking afterwards – Rug changes and general monitoring of the horses – Tack and equipment care – Keeping the stable and grooming areas clean and organised – Assisting with veterinary, farrier and other appointments when needed – Helping with the general daily routine of the horses
Previous professional grooming experience and good horse-handling skills are required.
Position 2 – Stable & Property Maintenance
Main duties include: – Mucking out and general stable work – Hay and feeding – Paddock and field maintenance – Fencing and general property maintenance – Mowing, trimming and outdoor upkeep – Small repairs and practical jobs – Use and basic maintenance of machinery and equipment
We are looking for someone practical, efficient, independent and comfortable with physical outdoor work.
For both positions, we value people who are reliable, tidy, organised, respectful of the horses and able to work independently.
Driving licences are preferred.
This is a long-term opportunity for a couple wishing to become a trusted part of a small private stable.
Accommodation
A comfortable, bright and fully furnished private studio is available on site, in a beautiful and peaceful countryside setting. Suitable for a couple and ideal for applicants relocating to the area.
Job Benefits
Small private stable with a limited number of horses and a strong focus on quality of care rather than volume. Calm and professional working environment with good working conditions.
The groom will have the opportunity to learn and receive training in the One Horse Life approach and methods, including relaxation, horse welfare, biomechanics and thoughtful horse handling.
Comfortable private accommodation is available on site.
Long-term position with the opportunity to become a trusted and important part of the team.
