Bowness Stud & Watershed Farm | Young, NSW Starting 8 October 2026
We are seeking experienced Yearling Sales Preparation Staff to join our team on farm for the upcoming sales season.
Applicants must be confident and experienced handling and educating young thoroughbreds and able to work safely and competently.
The role includes:
Yearling handling and education Hand walking, parade and standing practice Grooming, washing and general sales preparation Feeding, mucking out and general stable duties Monitoring horse health and administering basic treatments/medications Assisting with vets and farriers Paddock checks and general stud duties as required
Applicants must have:
Previous yearling sales preparation experience Strong ground handling and horsemanship skills with young horses A good eye for horse health and attention to detail Good spoken English A current driver's licence A valid Australian working visa/right to work
You must be available to work for a minimum of 4 to 6 months from 8 October 2026 and be available throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Please do not apply if you have holidays planned during this period.
Full time position. Working Holiday Visa holders welcome. Eligible work for the 88 day second Working Holiday Visa requirement.
