Bio
I am a recent Mizzou graduate with a degree in Animal Sciences and a certificate in Equine Science and Management. I am looking to use the skills and knowledge I have gained through this program to join the equine industry.Qualifications
I graduated with a degree in Animal Sciences with a certificate in Equine Science and Management from the University of Missouri. During my undergraduate career, I took every equine related course available to me, ranging from breeding and foaling courses, to marketing, nutrition, behavior and training, as well as routine equine care.
Duties of Current Occupation
I worked at the MU Equine Teaching Facility my senior year as an Undergraduate Assistant Manager, working diligently alongside my colleagues to care for a herd of over 30 horses ranging from foals to retired teaching horses, and breeding stallions.
Equine Work Experience
I have experience with routine maintenance and care of horses, as well as handling various emergencies such as dystocias, colic, wound care, bandaging and more. I have helped train various ages of horses all the way from new born foals to weanlings, yearlings, other youngstock, young horses, and adult horses.
Specialities
I have worked with numerous foals, mares, breeding clients, stallions of various temperaments, young stock, and teaching horses. I have led shifts of 10+ personnel as well as organized barn staff duties, responsibilities, and schedules.
