I am a professional stable hand working in the outer Portland (i.e Sherwood, Newberg, Tigard, Wilsonville, Beaverton, etc.) area.Duties of Current Occupation
-Feeding hay/grain/supplements -Formulating diets for specific needs -Grooming/brushing/hoof care -Observing for illness/injury -Blanketing -Turning out/in -Assisting with vet and farrier -Administering topical, oral, and opthalmic medication
Equine Work Experience
I have over 8 years of experience performing both basic husbandry and specialized/additional care. I have worked in barns ranging anywhere from 14-45 stalls, and am comfortable interacting with clients and owners and communicating/collaborating on care. I have worked in management and assistant management positions and am comfortable making decisions (as appropriate) based on common sense, the animal's needs, and my employer's needs. I am also comfortable functioning in a barn staff position and supportive roles. I am a quick and eager learner, and an extremely hard worker that is fully dedicated to the well-being of the animals' in my care.
