I have a Bachelors in Pre-Veterinary Science and learned about horse care and husbandry throughout my 4 year education.
Duties of Current Occupation
At UMass I was a student in the Equine Practicum. I worked with all horses, pregnant mares, and foals. Responsible for feeding, turn-out, cleaning stalls, grooming, bathing, blanketing, and basic horse care (eye meds, hoof soaking, vaccines, etc.).
Equine Work Experience
Through my equine practicum coursework and experience working with horses, I have gained practical skills in daily horse care, including feeding, stall cleaning, turnout, and monitoring overall health and behavior. I am comfortable following individualized feeding plans, administering supplements, and maintaining accurate records. I understand the importance of maintaining a clean, organized, and safe barn environment, both for horse welfare and for the people working within it.
Specialities
I have worked with pregnant mares and foals. At the Hadley farm we had about 25 horses to care for each day.
