Duties of Current Occupation

Have been riding for 8 years. I have served as a working student, a barn hand, an equestrian summer counselor, and competed in IHSA Zone 6 for a year.

Equine Work Experience

I have been riding in English saddles for 8 years. I am familiar with hunter shows, dressage, and jumpers. For the brief year I was on the Miami University Equestrian Team I served on the Care Committee and the Photography Committee. I worked under Hart & Horse in Fishers, Indiana for a year as a barn hand to manage feeding and turnout each day until she found someone available for full time. I served as a working student for another year, then had to let go of the position due to attending school out of state. Two years later I was hired as an equestrian counselor at Camp Kippewa to teach girls and serve as a bunk counselor for their Kippewa Equestrian Academy. This recent summer I served as a counselor once again, gaining experience in western riding teaching at Camp Chief Ouray in Granby, CO

Specialities

Taught riders in a summer camp ranging from absolute beginner to experienced IEA riders. Experienced in handling large (30-50 horses) properties. Can handle general farm maintenance such as fixing fences.

Type of Ride Work

I have a lot of experience riding small ponies. As a more experienced rider who can still comfortably fit on one, I usually exercise the ponies to keep them fit between their lessons with younger kids. I have been riding in an English saddle since I started but have grown comfortable in a western saddle. I am confident in the trail and the arena

Competition Details

Briefly rode for Miami University Hunt Seat. Acted as a groom for several IEA shows and Dressage shows
