Duties of Current Occupation

Tasked with grooming, mucking stalls, dragging fields, working horses, clipping, cleaning, repairs, organizing, and trail maintenance working as a free lance barn hand. I have also assisted with children’s pony rides and supported birthday parties.

Equine Work Experience

I have always admired the ranch life and horses ever since I was a kid. I didn't start in the industry until the age of 12 where my parents sent me to Diamond D ranch in Jacksonville one a week every year. There we would learn to groom, lung, saddle, ride, and care for horses. At the age of 16 I begun taking lessons and by the age of 17 I was training an off the track thoroughbred who has been sitting in the pasture for a few years and was now practically green. I turned him from bucking when asking for a walk to being an advanced level lesson horse in just 6 months. I continued to ride up until college where I bought my first horse, 2 years old (2024) and have been trail riding and training ever since.

Specialities

I haven't worked with foals or stallions but I have worked with a lot of green and green broke horses. I have been able to train 2 horses in the past 3 years with hardly any connections. This was helping my instructor where I first learned to ride and the other horse was my current horse who anyone can ride now. While I don't have much team leading in the equestrian field I grew up playing sports and have much team leading experience there.

Type of Ride Work

All western horses. I started with English when first learning to ride and found I prefer western style the best. I haven't done any type of competitions but I and hoping once fully broke I can train my horse and start competing in rodeos.

Competition Details

I have not, however I have shadowed a person who does horse massage therapy at the world equestrian center in Ocala Fl. Here I helped with red light therapy, massaging, oiling, walking horses, and holding horses.
