I have not yet completed college-level equine courses, but I have 12 years of extensive hands-on equine experience through 4-H, including riding, showing, training, grooming, conditioning, handling, and daily horse care. I plan to pursue veterinary medicine in college with a focus on equine medicine.

My involvement in 4-H over the past 12 years has given me extensive hands-on experience with horses and strengthened my passion for equine care. I have raised, trained, cared for, and shown horses, gaining experience with daily feeding, grooming, exercise, conditioning, tack, handling, and general health care. Preparing for shows has taught me the importance of consistency, patience, safety, attention to detail, and proper horsemanship. Caring for horses every day has also helped me develop strong responsibility, organization, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Working closely with my horses has taught me to recognize changes in their behavior and condition and understand the importance of their health and welfare. These experiences have deepened my passion for horses and inspired me to pursue a career as an equine veterinarian.

I have hands-on experience working with foals and stallions, as well as managing and handling multiple large turnout groups. Through 12 years of 4-H and equine experience, I have developed strong horse-handling, safety, and herd-management skills.

I have extensive experience riding both English and Western. I have competed in and shown in numerous classes in both disciplines, including flatwork, jumping, and hunting. I have experience preparing horses for shows, including conditioning, grooming, tack, and schooling.
