I am a recent graduate looking for a full time job with some opportunities to improve myself as a horseman and possibly compete. I truly believe that this lifetime sport has so much to offer and I want to learn everything I possibly can.Qualifications
A recent graduate from William Woods University with a BS in Equine General Studies and a concentration in Equine Assisted Services.
Equine Work Experience
Started as working student at 14, did barn chores, laundry, jump set up and tear down, sweeping, cleaning, grooming, turnout and turn in, wrapping and tacking. Camp counselor, taught kids from ages 5-15, helped teach basic safety and care of horses, tacking, and other basic knowledge. William Woods University, vitals signs, wrapping, wound care, horse care, basic ground working, working/ riding greener horses, cleaning, communication skills, grooming and the basics of plaiting.
Specialities
Working with children who learn differently, process differently and have a difficulty processing emotions. Working with high strung horses and nappy ponies.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden Western, Dressage and Hunters/Jumpers. However my main discipline I ride is Hunters/Jumpers
Competition Details
I have competed at the 2’6” Hunters at WEC and the .70 Jumpers. I have also groomed for a few weeks for my school at WEC, NEC and other shows nearby.
