SPRIESER SPORTHORSE, Northern Virginia's premier dressage training facility, seeks an ambitious dressage rider with both teaching and young horse training experience. We are looking for a confident, assertive rider who is capable of patiently but directly addressing the occasional behavioral challenges one encounters in bringing young warmblood horses up the levels, and who also wants to teach riders of all levels. FEI dressage experience preferred, but not necessary; a solid understanding of the connection from hind legs to the bridle, a solid seat, and the ability to take and apply pressure correctly is paramount. We would consider an experienced upper-level event rider as well.
Assistant trainers at our facility teach, both on and off site, as well as ride client horses. Exquisite on-site housing and training board are included. Our Virginia facility boasts 20+ horses in full training, owned by wonderful, dedicated people in an incredible venue, with an oversized indoor arena, full sized outdoor, and extensive turnout, all on 135 acres of ride out. Our team is warm, funny and supportive, and we have no patience for drama or nonsense.
Former assistant trainers have earned their USDF medals and competed client horses at clients' expense, and many have graduated from us to start successful businesses of their own. Head Trainer Lauren Sprieser is a USDF Gold, Silver & Bronze Medalist, and an experienced trainer of both horses and riders up to the CDI Grand Prix level. This is the kind of place you want to work.
Applicants must supply a resume, non-family references and riding video, and be capable of getting to Northern Virginia for an on-site trial. Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship; please don't waste our time.
