Private high-end sport-horse breeding and development operation in Aiken, South Carolina is seeking an experienced young-horse rider/trainer for a long-term, full-time position.

The primary responsibility is the correct development and production of our homebred and carefully selected young horses, with the goal of producing top-caliber show jumpers for high-level sport.

A strong dressage foundation and excellent flatwork are highly valued. A rider from a serious eventing background may also be an excellent fit, provided they have exceptional basics, feel, patience, and proven young-horse experience. We are looking for someone who understands how to build a horse correctly from the ground up: rhythm, balance, straightness, contact, suppleness, strength, confidence, and rideability—not simply how to get young horses around courses.

The position combines young-horse production with responsibility for the home program. During the winter season, the owner and primary show string will spend significant periods in Wellington/Ocala. The successful candidate must be capable of independently running the young-horse program at home alongside an established support staff.

This is not primarily a grooming or barn-manager position. The focus is riding, training, evaluating, developing, and showing predominantly 3–6-year-old sport horses, while having the maturity and organization to oversee the program when the owner is away.

Proven young-horse production experience is required. Applicants should provide videos and examples of horses they have personally produced, résumé/work history, and strong professional references.

Experienced professional rider/trainer with a proven record producing young sport horses, ideally from backing/early education through their first shows and continued development.

Applicants must be confident working with predominantly 3–6-year-old horses and able to develop rhythm, balance, straightness, contact, suppleness, strength, confidence, and rideability before progressing their jumping work.

Strong horsemanship, sound judgment, organization, communication, and leadership are essential. There is an established support staff in place, so this is not primarily a grooming or barn-management position, but the successful candidate must be capable of directing staff and coordinating with vets, farriers, and other professionals when needed.

Proven young-horse production experience is required. Applicants should be prepared to provide riding videos, examples of horses they have personally produced, competition history where applicable, and strong professional references.

Experience within the European young-horse development system is highly valued. International applicants are welcome. Multilingual ability, particularly Spanish, is a plus.
