Wilson College seeks a hands-on leader passionate about equine care, student development, and operational excellence. This full-time role oversees daily care of up to 72 horses, including feeding, turnout, health monitoring, inventory management, and facility upkeep. The position supervises and mentors student workers, supports horse evaluations and onboarding, and ensures safety and biosecurity standards.

The role also contributes to the academic mission by teaching equitation courses (up to four per year) and assisting with camps and clinics. Ideal candidates bring strong horsemanship, stable management experience, instructional ability, and a commitment to experiential learning.

This is a full-time, exempt position requiring schedule flexibility, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Equine Studies or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional horse care experience.
  • Demonstrated riding proficiency and experience teaching in equine education settings.

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
