Position Summary

Chamounix Equestrian Center, home of Work to Ride, is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and physically capable individual to join our team as Part-Time Barn Help. This is a hands-on position focused on the daily care of horses and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized barn environment.

Responsibilities

• Feed, water, and turn horses in and out according to established schedules. • Clean and muck stalls and provide fresh bedding as needed. • Maintain clean water buckets, troughs, feed areas, and other horse-care areas. • Groom, blanket, and provide basic daily care for horses as assigned. • Observe horses for signs of injury, illness, or changes in behavior and promptly report concerns to the appropriate supervisor. • Clean and maintain barn aisles, tack areas, feed areas, wash stalls, and other shared barn spaces. • Sweep, blow, rake, and remove hay, manure, trash, and debris from designated areas. • Assist with maintaining pastures, paddocks, arenas, and other areas of the facility. • Operate farm and barn equipment, including tractors, UTVs, wheelbarrows, and other equipment, when trained and authorized. • Properly store tools, equipment, feed, and supplies after use. • Complete assigned daily chores and additional barn projects as directed. • Follow all established horse-handling, barn, equipment, and workplace safety procedures. • Perform other barn and facility-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with horses, barns, farms, or similar environments is preferred.
• Must be comfortable safely handling horses.
• Must be physically capable of performing demanding manual work, including repeatedly lifting and carrying 50+ pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, rake, shovel, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently, follow established routines, and complete assigned responsibilities with limited supervision.
• Dependable, punctual, and consistent attendance.
• Calm, observant, responsible, and safety-minded when working around horses.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the schedule.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
