Derbyshire Stables is an active, 70-horse, multi-discipline program serving a friendly rider community just northeast of Cincinnati. The right individual has a holistic, well rounded approach to instruction and training and will collaborate with instruction team to deliver client focused programming.
The right individual has a practical skill set and experience as well as leadership qualities to establish a competitive Hunter/Jumper - Dressage show team while maintaining an accessible school lesson program to the broader client base. This individual will be adept at matching horses and riders to assist with horse acquisition and sales and will be proficient at developing horses in a sustainable way.
Our ideal candidate will also communicate effectively with a wide range of ages and skill levels to provide an excellent learning experience as well as build the skills of other instructors on the team.
Additional :
Work collaboratively with facilities and operations team.
Conduct training/exercise rides for boarded and lesson horses consistent with program standards ( assist in authoring program standards)
Assist with daily horse care and barn maintenance duties
Support shows, clinics, and camps as scheduled; Contribute to a safe, enjoyable professional environment
Light administrative including scheduling, event promotion and contribution to social channels
Qualifications
Prior lesson-teaching experience with documented success Prefer showing experience Confident, competent horse husbandry and related skill set Professional communication with clients and teammates; affiliates, dependable, team-minded work style and utility player mindset
Availability for evenings/weekends; Physically energetic; ability to lift 50 lb
