Folklore Farm is an education-based equestrian facility committed to exceptional horse care, quality instruction, and developing horses through proper functional movement and correct horsemanship. We are seeking a Barn Manager / Groom who takes pride in caring for horses, maintaining a clean and organized facility, and contributing to a program where professionalism, attention to detail and high standards are simply the way we operate. This is a hands-on position responsible for the daily care and management of our horses and facility. Responsibilities include feeding horses, cleaning approximately 5–8 stalls each day, grooming, clipping, preparing horses for lessons, assisting with tacking, observing horses during daily care, communicating any concerns, and helping keep the barn and grounds clean, organized, and welcoming. Additional responsibilities include managing feed inventory, coordinating feed deliveries, and maintaining the farrier schedule. Previous horse experience is required. We are looking for someone who is dependable, observant, organized, physically fit, and able to work independently. The ideal candidate understands the importance of consistency, attention to detail, and quality horse management. An eye for proper functional movement is highly desirable. Experience with groundwork is not required, but an interest in learning in-hand work and horse development is encouraged. Our horses are cared for as individuals, our clients are respectful and clean up after themselves, and we work together to maintain a positive, professional, drama-free environment where the horses always come first. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and able to communicate effectively in English. Housing with utilities is included. Board for one horse may be available for the right individual. Please send a brief summary of your horse experience, employment history, and references.

I've worked at this farm for a while now and am shocked at how much I've already learned. If you are looking for a place with an opportunity to expand your experience working with horses on a daily basis, both in hand as well as riding, then you'll really enjoy a position here! The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and between lessoning with her and participating in the monthly clinics, this is an amazing opportunity for a serious equestrian. I am so grateful to have found Folklore Farm!
