We are seeking a passionate and energetic Young Horse Caretaker. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work closely with talented equine professionals and contribute to the growth of promising young horses. In addition to horse care, the role includes field maintenance, training assistance, course setting, ring maintenance, and horse transport.
This is a full-time, hands-on position ideal for someone passionate about young horse development, daily horse care, and farm management. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, confident around young horses, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of horse care and facility management. A valid CDL license, while not required, is a plus. Experience with farm equipment (tractor, manure spreader, forklift, arena drag, dually truck, and large custom horse trailer is required.

Requirements
Duties
- Oversee daily care routines for 15 to 18 young horses, ensuring proper feeding, grooming, and health monitoring
- Oversee turnout schedules and rotation of young horses
- Monitor horse health, behavior, soundness, and overall well-being
- Coordinate and assist with farrier and veterinary appointments
- Assist with groundwork, handling, backing, and young horse development
- Maintain and clean paddocks, sheds, and turnout areas
- Drag fields and assist with pasture management
- Clean, inspect, and maintain automatic waterers
- Ensure barns, sheds, and horse areas remain organized, safe, and well-maintained
- Work closely with the training and management team regarding horse progress and care plans
- Identify maintenance or safety concerns and communicate promptly
Qualifications
- Strong horse handling skills and confidence working independently
- Knowledge of horse health, nutrition, and daily management
- Ability to lift, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and perform physical labor
- Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Hands-on experience with animal care techniques such as feeding protocols, grooming, health checks, and handling
- A valid driver's license is required. A CDL license, while not required, is a plus.
