We are seeking a skilled, upbeat, riding instructor/trainer to join our team!

We are a full service facility focused on classical dressage and holistic horse care. The physical and mental welfare of each horse is paramount. BridleWood is located on 60 idyllic acres in NY State, 2.5 hours from Boston and NYC. We have a full size dust-free indoor arena, a full size outdoor grass arena with a gorgeous view!, a 60’ surfaced round pen, heated bathroom and tack room, plus access to woodland trails. We seek a classical trainer who is gifted in teaching beginners as well as advanced students.
Our horses are all maintained barefoot, on a forage based whole-food diet. They live in compatible groups on track systems with shelters. They have the freedom to interact with each other, find food and water and seek shelter as they wish, and as such, they move more, becoming healthier and happier! In case of extreme weather they all have a stall in the main barn. Your approach to riding and training must be in partnership with each horse, without using bribery such as clicker training, or ‘short-cut’ mechanics (no side reins, martingales, or harsh bits). Equine bio-mechanics along with the practical knowledge of in-hand work is a must. Someone skilled in methods that echo the teaching of Reiner Klimke, Uta Gräf, Bettina Drummond, Manolo Mendez, or David de Wispelaere, and of course many others...someone who approaches their work with a capable positive attitude, imbued with compassion, creativity, joy and lightness! Our Freelance Work agreement will be shared with the right person. An on-farm housing rental is possible. Board for one horse is included.
