Position: Live-in Grounds & Facilities Caretaker **Classification: **Part-time, Hourly pay Reporting Relationship: Executive Director **Position Summary: **Living on property, maintaining and improving grounds and facilities operation of a working horse barn; performing daily night check in barn; providing emergency support for property/facilities/equines as needed.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Living on and securing property year-round
- Responsible for the upkeep of all building structures from sheds, garages, barns, dwellings, walls, and fences
- All-season maintenance of grounds (includes snow removal in winter)
- Manure, garbage, recycling maintenance
Schedule is flexible, but needed at least 3 days a week, ideally Mon, Wed, & Fri in 3-5 hour shifts, for a total of 10-25 hours a week depending on seasonal/event/weather needs of organization.
Requirements
Requirements: *High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be legally employable in U.S.
- Must have valid driver's license and be insurable
- Must be able to operate and use equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job including but not limited to: weed whacker, hedge trimmer, and backpack blower, gator, riding mower, tractor, etc.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds for up to 10 feet and sustain aerobic activity for 30 consecutive minutes.
- Must be able to work in a variety of positions, including but not limited to: stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting
- Must be able to tolerate a variety of outdoor conditions, varying turf surfaces, air- conditioned buildings, and fluorescent lights.
- Knowledge of and comfort with horses
