New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program has a long history of transitioning retiring racehorses into second careers when their days on the track come to an end. Since 1992, we’ve focused on the rehabilitation, retraining, and ultimately rehoming of these horses to qualified and loving adopters.

Some of the horses we serve are sound but just too slow to be competitive on the track. Others have sustained injuries that need time to heal, and some just need R&R from the lifestyle of being a racing athlete. They all face a common reality: Without training beyond what they’ve learned for racing, a good future isn’t guaranteed.

We retrain and rehome horses across the country with our primary facility based in Lexington, KY. Join our team and help us provide racehorses with a successful transition to their new vocation after racing!
