A private equestrian operation near Buffalo, New York, is seeking a passionate and energetic Young Horse Caretaker. This is a full-time, hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working with young horses and takes pride in maintaining a high standard of care.

The role involves overseeing the daily care and management of approximately 15–18 young horses, including feeding, grooming, turnout, and monitoring their health, behavior, and soundness. The caretaker will also assist with groundwork, handling, backing, and young horse development while working closely with the training and management team.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating veterinary and farrier care, maintaining paddocks and turnout areas, assisting with pasture and ring maintenance, course setting, horse transport, and general property upkeep.

The ideal candidate will have:

Strong horse-handling skills and confidence working with young horses

Knowledge of equine health, nutrition, and daily management

Experience operating equipment such as tractors, arena drags, forklifts, dually trucks, and large horse trailers

Strong organizational and communication skills

A reliable, professional, and detail-oriented approach

Valid CDL is a plus, but not required
