Leweston Chedington Riding Academy seeks a Live-in Yard Manager in Sherborne, UK. This full-time, permanent role starts August 28, 2025. Benefits include accommodation, meals (during term), pension, 25 days leave, uniform, and CPD.

The Academy, in its second year, offers comprehensive equestrian education, supports a competitive riding squad, and prepares students for equestrian careers via BTEC courses and equine experiences. As a Licensed educational center, it provides high-quality horse care.

The Yard Manager will support the Director of Riding in upholding high standards of equine care and student welfare, collaborating with academic staff and coaches.

Key requirements: Ability to take sole charge of a busy yard, exceptional organizational skills, positive attitude, strong Health and Safety understanding, computer proficiency, competence in schooling/exercising/lunging horses of all abilities, enjoyment of working with children, commitment to high turnout/tidiness/biosecurity, and a valid 3.5t horse transporter driving license. Equestrian qualifications are preferred.

Core duties: Ensuring high horse care, routine yard duties, paddock management, effective liaison with stakeholders (Director of Riding, students, parents, staff, instructors, external professionals), procurement/inventory management of yard supplies, and coordination with veterinary, farriery, physiotherapy, and saddlery services.

The role is 45 hours/week on a rota, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays, with two days off. Daily split shifts: 07:00-12:00 and 14:30-18:00, plus a 30-minute late check. Salary TBC.

All appointments are subject to satisfactory DBS checks, Safeguarding training, and First Aid certification. Interviews by end of July; early applications encouraged.
